Betsy Laboe
Betsy has been married to her husband, Kevin almost 30 years and they have 2 children. Most recently she has moved back to the Detroit area after living in Brazil, where she co-chaired Minas International and wrote for it’s online magazine. Before moving to Brazil, she worked as Director of Business Development for Worth New York and for Doncaster prior to that. She has also owned/ operated a small Interior Design business. General Electric, Morrison’s (in Australia), Michigan Living and Marketplace magazines are among past employment. For the past decade, Betsy has co-hosted a local cable show, “Spectacles”, interviewing interesting women who have contributed to the community. Starting 35 years ago with Cru in college, Betsy has lead and been involved in a variety of bible studies in church and in her community. Betsy has also enjoyed many volunteer positions including President of the Junior League of Birmingham, President of Cranbrook House Auxiliary , co- chair of Young Life in Michigan, President of the Seaholm PTA. She has also chaired numerous fundraisers in the Detroit area.
Betsy enjoys travel, writing, photography, tennis and going to art galleries. She is excited to see what God will do to encourage and inspire women through Sparkle LLC!
Heather Bearden
Heather has been married to Tim almost 30 years and they have three daughters. Starting with Community Bible Study over 25 years ago, she has been leading various bible studies for over 20 years! While in college for Dental Hygiene, she volunteered at a therapeutic riding center. Enjoying this experience so much, she began to pray for the future of somehow combining horses and serving God at the same time. Now 30 years later, Heather and her husband have been restoring an 1860’s farmstead that will serve as the location of Sparkle LLC women’s retreats. While Heather remains an active Board Member for BCC, a therapeutic equestrian center, she also enjoys travel, entertaining water sports, snow skiing and competing with her American Quarter Horse.
Kelly Bell
Kelly has been married to her husband over 30 years, together they have two children. As a practicing attorney she concentrated in commercial real estate transactions. She recently retired and works part time in a small boutique near her home. Kelly has been actively involved in her church chairing various events, as well as being an elder for 3 years. In her spare time she loves to swim, play tennis read and travel. Working on Sparkle LLC is another expression of the joy she finds in her faith.
Jacque Goard
Jacque is married with 2 children. She and her husband own a property management company that manages 3 properties. She has been involved as a co-leader and administrator for her Bible Studies for over 20 years. She has also worked in children’s ministry for about the same amount of time. In her free time, she loves to read, do puzzles, travel and hang out with her family. She is excited to be a part of Sparkle, LLC.
Robyn Feys
Robyn is married with 4 children. She has a gardening and design business with 2 partners. She also teaches Chinese students English. She has lead and been involved in several Bible Studies and prayer groups for over 25 years. She has also worked in middle and high school ministries for about the same amount of time. In her free time, she loves to play tennis, ride horses, travel and hang out with her family. She is excited to see what God is going to do through Sparkle, LLC.
Maggie Whitley
Maggie Whitley has been writing online since 2008 to inspire women to pursue the adventure of life. Her blog writings are centered around faith, simple living, motherhood & cultivating joy, with an emphasis on the verse Titus 2:3-5. Maggie also owns a handmade business, Gussy Sews, which has generated much success over the last decade. For years she mentored other handmade business owners through her mentorship program. In addition to blogging Maggie is the author of multiple published devotionals including two devotionals inside the (in)courage Devotional Bible (B&H Publishing). In 2012 she and her husband traveled to Tanzania, Africa on behalf of Compassion International to raise awareness for their child sponsorship program. Maggie and her husband Zack have been married for almost 11 years and have four young children. Maggie also home schools her children, enjoys a quiet room while reading, and roars with laughter over the challenges & delights of motherhood.
